MISIA Sings S -Saigo no Keikan- Police Film's Theme

She also sang theme to earlier manga-based show starring Osamu Mukai, Gō Ayano

Japanese singer Misia is contributing the theme song for S -Saigo no Keikan- Dakkan Recovery of Our Future, the August 29 live-action police film based on the manga S -Saigo no Keikan-.

Misia debuted her previously unreleased song "Nagare-Boshi" (Shooting Star) during her ongoing nationwide tour "Hoshizora no Live Moon Journey." Takayuki Hattori (Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin, live-action GTO: Great Teacher Onizuka and Space Brothers) arranged the song for a new recording with an orchestra for the version being used as the film's theme song.

The singer said "Nagare-Boshi" is about the glowing brilliance of each and every life. She added that the message of the song matches the movie's message of living life.

The song will go on sale as a digital single via iTunes, Recochoku, and other services on July 8. Artist Ellie Omiya created the jacket art.

Actor Osamu Mukai (Honey and Clover, Nodame Cantabile, Paradise Kiss) stars in the film as Ichigo Kamikura (pictured far right), a former boxer who is now a hand-to-hand combat specialist. Gō Ayano (Gatchaman, Kamen Rider 555, Gantz II: Perfect Answer) plays Iori Soga, a steely calm sniper with "miraculous" sharpshooting skills.

Writer Yōichi Komori (Mash GO!!) and artist Yutaka Tōdō have been serializing the manga about a special police assault unit in Shogakukan's Big Comic magazine since 2009. The film is a followup to the January-March 2014 live-action television series on Japan's TBS station. Just like the new film's theme song, Misia wrote the "Boku wa Pegasus, Kimi wa Polaris" theme song specifically for the television series.
