Japanese dub of web series to debut in theaters in Japan in November

The November issue of Shueisha's Ultra Jump magazine is announcing on Monday that Dogs: Prelude manga creator Shirow Miwa is drawing a manga adaptation of Monty Oum and Rooster Teeth's anime-style RWBY web series. The series will debut in the magazine's December issue on November 19.

The first chapter will include back and center color pages. The magazine issue will bundle a mini clear file with art from the new RWBY manga. The series will be part of the magazine's special 20th anniversary project.

The magazine also announced that Shinichirō Nariie's La Paz Theme Park and Noa Natsume's Lady & Old Man manga will debut in the same issue. Yukimaru Katsura's Moira and Manatsu Suzuki's Connect will debut in the January issue on December 19.

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Japan licensed the American web series RWBY for distribution and merchandising in Japan. Six theaters in Japan will screen the episodes starting on November 14. A "theater limited-edition Blu-ray" will also go on sale on November 14.

The first main Blu-ray Disc and DVD release will ship in Japan on December 9. An original soundtrack will also be released on November 11.

The Japanese dub's cast includes:

The original web series follows four girls with unique weapons and powers who are training to hunt supernatural "Creatures of Grimm."

The series' creator Monty Oum passed away in February after suffering an allergic reaction to a medical procedure.
