Novel by original manga's writer, artist will explore Mikaela's story, origin of vampires

Online retailer Amazon is listing the first volume of a new novel series based on Takaya Kagami, Daisuke Furuya, and Yamato Yamamoto's Seraph of the End (Owari no Seraph) manga titled Owari no Seraph: Kyūketsuki Mikaela no Monogatari (Seraph of the End: The Story of Mikaela the Vampire). Kagami is writing the story, and Yamamoto will draw the illustrations. Shueisha will publish the novel on December 4.

The novel's description states:

The secret hidden in Mikaela's name. The deadly fight with the "human" Crowley, and the encounter with Ferid. The story will uncover their travels. A shocking new series that will move closer to the truth and origin of vampires!

Takaya and Yamamoto also created the Owari no Seraph: Ichinose Guren, 16-sai no Catastrophe (Seraph of the End: Guren Ichinose, Catastrophe at 16) novel series, which Vertical will release as an omnibus on January 5.

Viz Media is releasing Takaya and Yamamoto's original Seraph of the End manga in English, and it published the sixth volume on September 1. The manga has also received a split-season television anime adaptation. The first 12-episode half premiered on April 4, and the second half, titled Seraph of the End: Battle in Nagoya, premiered on October 10. FUNimation Entertainment streamed the first half, and is also streaming the second half as it airs in Japan. Funimation also streamed the first half with an English dub.
