posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda

The January 2016 issue of Hakusensha's LaLa magazine revealed the new cast and characters for the upcoming second season of the Snow White with the Red Hair (Akagami no Shirayuki-hime) television anime series on Tuesday.

Sachi Kokuryu as Kazuki, a mysterious man searching for Shirayuki

Shintarō Asanuma as Itoya, a silent man who travels with Kazuki

Mikako Komatsu as Eugena, the second prince of the Tanbarun Kingdom

Inori Minase as Rona, the princess of the Tanbarun Kingdom

The staff also unveiled a new visual for the second season.

The second season will start off with Shirayuki being invited to the Tanbarun Kingdom. The new season will premiere in January.

Saori Hayami, who voices the titular protagonist Shirayuki, will return to sing the second season's opening theme song "Sono Koe ga Chizu ni Naru" (Your Voice Will Become a Map). Hayami performed the opening theme song "Yasashii Kibō" (Gentle Hope) for the first half of the series. The song marked her debut as a solo artist. The group eyelis is also returning to provide the ending theme song "Page~Kimi to Tsuzuru Monogatari" (Page~A Story I Weave with You). The group performed the first season's ending theme song "Kizuna ni Nosete" (Placing on Bonds).

An original anime DVD (OAD) episode will ship with the manga's 15th volume on January 5.

The first half premiered in July and Funimation streamed the series as it aired.

Akiduki's original manga and the anime revolve around Shirayuki, a beautiful girl working as a medicine woman who has red hair, which is very rare in her country. When she is proposed to and chased after by Raji (Jun Fukuyama), the prince of her country, she runs away, only to meet Zen (Ryota Ohsaka), the prince of a neighboring country. Finding respect for the young man, she decides to serve at his side as his court doctor.

Masahiro Ando (Hanasaku Iroha - Blossoms for Tomorrow, Blast of Tempest) is directing the anime at the studio BONES.

Akiduki began the manga in LaLa in its September 2006 issue, and Hakusensha shipped the 14th compiled volume of the series on July 3. The limited edition of the manga's 15th volume will bundle a 30-minute anime on DVD.
