Manga creator Eiichiro Oda serves as executive producer, Hiroaki Miyamoto directs

The first 2016 issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine will reveal on Monday that the 13th One Piece film is titled One Piece Film Gold, and it will open in Japan on July 23.

The same issue will also reveal that original manga creator Eiichiro Oda will serve as the film's executive producer as well as being credited with the original work. Oda also served as the executive producer for the previous film in the franchise, One Piece Film Z.

Hiroaki Miyamoto (One Piece episodes 352-679, assistant director for One Piece: Baron Omatsuri and the Secret Island) is directing the film, and Tsutomu Kuroiwa (live-action Black Butler film, live-action Liar Game: The Final Stage film, live-action The Perfect Insider TV series) is writing the script.

The first round of pre-sale tickets for the film will go on sale on December 18, and Weekly Shonen Jump's second 2016 issue that ships on on December 14 will reveal the bonus extra that will be bundled with the tickets.

A One Piece film opened every year in Japan between 2000-2009. Since then, aside from One Piece Film Z, (which opened in December 2012) and the 30-minute One Piece 3D: Mugiwara Chase film in 2011, Fuji TV has aired numerous long specials, such as One Piece Episode of Luffy: Hand Island no Bōken, One Piece Episode of Nami: Kōkaishi no Namida to Nakama no Kizuna, One Piece Episode of Merry: Mō Hitori no Nakama no Monogatari, One Piece "3D2Y" Ace no Shi wo Koete! Luffy Nakama to no Chikai, and One Piece Episode of Sabo. A new two-hour special titled One Piece ~Adventure of Nevlandia~ will air on December 19.

Funimation released One Piece Film Z in North America in September 2014.
