Konomi Suzuki, MYTH&ROID perform theme songs for series premiering in April

The official website for the Re: Life in a different world from zero (Re: Zero Kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu) television anime adaptation revealed the show's theme song artists and character designs on Thursday.

Konomi Suzuki will perform the show's opening theme song "Redo." Her single with the song will ship on May 11. Suzuki has previously performed theme songs for WATAMOTE, No Game, No Life, Freezing Vibration, and Absolute Duo, among others.

MYTH&ROID will perform the ending theme song "STYX HELIX." The group's single with the theme song will ship on May 25. MYTH&ROID has previously performed ending theme songs for Overlord and BBK/BRNK.

The anime's cast and character designs include:

Yūsuke Kobayashi as Subaru Natsuki

Rie Takahashi as Emilia

Yumi Uchiyama as Puck

Chinatsu Akazaki as Felt

Inori Minase as Rem

Rie Murakawa as Rum

Satomi Arai as Beatrice

The anime also stars Yūichi Nakamura as Reinhardt.

The series will premiere on TV Tokyo, TV Osaka, TV Aichi, and AT-X in April.

Masaharu Watanabe (Wakaba Girl director, episode director for The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya) is directing the anime at studio WHITE FOX. Masahiro Yokotani (Maria Holic, both seasons of Free!, SHIMONETA: A Boring World Where the Concept of Dirty Jokes Doesn't Exist) is handling the series composition, and Kyuta Sakai (Steins;Gate, Sankarea: Undying Love, Humanity Has Declined) is designing the characters and serving as chief animation director.

The anime is inspired by Tappei Nagatsuki and illustrator Shinichirou Otsuka's light novel series of the same name, which Yen Press will publish in North America along with a manga adaptation. In the story, Subaru Natsuki is an ordinary high school student who is lost in an alternate world, where he is rescued by a beautiful, silver-haired girl. He stays near her to return the favor, but the destiny she is burdened with is more than Subaru can imagine. Enemies attack one by one, and both of them are killed. He then finds out he has the power to rewind death, back to the time he first came to this world. But only he remembers what has happened since.
