Persona 5 TV Anime Special & Manga's Launch Dates Announced

Production I.G's opening footage, more details on game & headphones announced

Atlus announced new details about its Persona 5 role-playing game at its "Persona 5 Complete Unveiling Premiere" event on Tuesday. The tie-in television anime special Persona 5 the Animation -The Day Breakers- will premiere on September 3 from 7:00 to 7:55 p.m. on Tokyo MX, followed by airings on Gunma TV, Tochigi TV, and BS11. It will recount the prologue story of the young thief organization at the center of the game.

Atlus also detailed each of the thief members with a series of Cooperation videos:

Hisato Murasaki will launch the Persona 5 manga on Shogakukan's Manga ONE app on September 15, and then on the Ura Sunday website on September 22.

The previously announced Game Syphony Japan 18th Concert Atlus Special ~Persona 20th Anniversary~ orchestra project has added an additional performance on November 27 at the Tokyo Opera City Concert Hall. Likewise, the previously announced Persona 20th Fes event will run from December 8 to December 18 at the Arts Chiyoda 3331 complex in Tokyo's Akihabara district in the style of high school festivals.

AKG is offering Wireless Headphones AKG K845BT, recreating the headphones used by the game's Futaba Sakura character (voiced by Yū Aoki), for 39,800 yen (about US$400). Pre-orders have started on Tuesday.

The PlayStation Store in Japan have begun pre-orders on Tuesday, and people who pre-order will receive a skill card set. In addition, the PlayStation Store is offering a Special Edition with additional DLC.

The latest entry in the Persona role-playing games will ship for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 on September 15 in Japan, and on February 14, 2017 in the Americas. Atlus will offer the American release in a "Take Your Heart" Premium Edition that includes a soundtrack CD, a Morgana plush, a hardcover art book, a steelbook, and a school bag. The game will also be available in a SteelBook Edition.
