New Pokémon I Choose You! Film Announced (Updated)

The Oha Suta (Good Morning Star) children's variety program on the TV Tokyo announced on Thursday that a new Pokémon film titled Gekijōban Pocket Monster: Kimi ni Kimeta! (Pokémon the Movie: I Choose You!) will premiere on July 15, 2017 in Japan. The program played a short teaser and unveiled a poster that shows Pikachu, Ho-oh, and a boy who appears to be Ash (Satoshi) in his outfit from the first season of the anime.
"Pokémon! Kimi ni Kimeta!" is the title of the Pokémon anime's first episode from 1997.
The franchise's most recent film, Pokémon the Movie: Volcanion and the Mechanical Marvel (Pokémon the Movie XY & Z: Volcanion to Karakuri no Magearna), debuted in Japan on July 16. The English dub debuted on December 5 on Disney XD in the United States.
