Kenji Yasuda directs Satelight anime starring Daisuke Ono, Yūki Kaji, more

The official website for author Chiaki Kisaki and illustrator Hako Ichiiro's Hakata Tonkotsu Ramens (Hakata Pork Bones Ramens) light novel series announced the main cast and staff for the anime adaptation on Wednesday. The website announced five cast members but only revealed roles for three of them:

Kenji Yasuda (Arata The Legend, Croisée in a Foreign Labyrinth - The Animation) is directing the anime at Satelight. Shogo Yasukawa (Terraformars, Alderamin on the Sky) is handling series composition, Hidenori Inoue is designing the characters, and Kotaro Nakagawa (Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, Hayate the Combat Butler) is composing the music.

The story of the novels takes place in Fukuoka. At first glance, the city seems like a peaceful one, but under the surface, crime is running rampant. The city's Hakata ward is home to the professionals of the underworld: professional killers, detectives, informants, professional revenge seekers, those skilled in torture, and more. And according to urban legend, even a "killer of professional killers" exists in the city. When stories of the men in the underworld are told, a "professional killer murder" appears.

The novel series won the first prize for the 20th Dengeki Novel Awards. Kisaki and Ichiiro launched the novel series in 2014, and Kadokawa published the seventh novel on July 25. The novel series also has a collaboration novel with Ryohgo Narita's Durarara!! novel series.

Kisara Akino launched the first manga adaptation in G Fantasy magazine in July 2016, and ended it on May 18. Square Enix published the manga's second and final compiled volume on July 25. A new manga adaptation titled Hakata Tonkotsu Ramens Dai 2-Shō (Chapter 2) will launch from artist Chiako Nagaoka on August 18.

The anime is part of Dengeki's 25th anniversary celebrations this year.
