Seven Deadly Sins Spinoff Manga About Ban & Elaine Ends in September

The September issue of Kodansha's Shonen Magazine Edge revealed on Thursday that Yō Kokikuji's Nanatsu no Taizai: Seven Days ~Tōzoku to Seishōjo~ (The Seven Deadly Sins: Seven Days ~The Thief and the Holy Girl~) manga adaptation of Mamoru Iwasa's Nanatsu no Taizai: Seven Days (The Seven Deadly Sins: Seven Days) spinoff novel will end in the magazine's October issue in September. The magazine's second and final compiled book volume is slated for October 17.

The novel is a spinoff of Nakaba Suzuki's The Seven Deadly Sins (Nanatsu no Taizai) manga, and tells the story of how Ban and Elaine met in more detail. The Shonen Magazine Edge website describes the story:

In the land north of Britannia, there is a forest where humans are not allowed to go, and it is known as the "Fairy King's Forest." The one known as the Fairy King, Harlequin, has not been seen for 700 years. His younger sister Elaine guards the Fountain of Youth from human greed by herself. After many partings and 700 years of isolation, her tears are about to dry up. Then, a young man appears seeking the Fountain of Youth. That young man's name is Ban.

Over the course of seven days with Ban, Elaine's heart is healed. The distance between them closes, but...

Kokikuji launched the manga in Shonen Magazine Edge on January 17. Kodansha published the manga's first compiled book volume (seen right) on July 14.

Kodansha published the spinoff novel last October. Kodansha has also published three "side story" novels by Shuka Matsuda. Vertical will release Matsuda's The Seven Deadly Sins: The Seven Scars Left Behind (Shōsetsu Nanatsu no Taizai -Gaiden- Karera ga Nokoshita Nanatsu no Kizuato) novel in North America.

Suzuki launched the original manga in Weekly Shōnen Magazine in 2012, and Kodansha published the 27th compiled book volume on July 14. Kodansha Comics published the first English volume in 2014, and the 21st volume shipped on July 11. Crunchyroll is posting the new chapters as they appear in Japan.

Suzuki drew two spinoff manga for The Seven Deadly Sins in February 2015. Chiemi Sakamoto debuted the Nanatsu no Taizai Production (The Seven Deadly Sins Production) comedy spinoff manga in November 2015. Jūichi Tamaki's Mayoe! Nanatsu no Taizai Gakuen! comedy spinoff manga began in 2014 and ended in November, while the Nanatsu no Taizai: King no Mangamichi spinoff ran from 2016 to 2017. The series also had a crossover chapter with Fairy Tail in 2013.

The original series inspired a 24-episode television anime, a four-episode television anime special, and two OVAs bundled with volumes of the manga. A new season is slated for January 2018 and an anime film is slated for summer 2018.
