posted on by Karen Ressler
Singer Hiroshi Kitadani's agency announced on Tuesday that Kitadani's live performance on Thursday has been postponed due to his health.
According to the message, Kitadani was diagnosed with sudden deafness within the last few days and was hospitalized for treatment. He is recovering but his doctor has prescribed him with a rest period. His "Birthday Live" performance, scheduled for Thursday in Tokyo, has been postponed and the agency provided information on refunds.
Kitadani posted a handwritten message in which he apologized for worrying fans and assured everyone he is recovering.
Kitadani has performed a number of anime theme songs, including "We Are!," the first opening for One Piece. He is also one of the five current members of JAM Project, an anime-based rock band consisting of veteran anime theme musicians.
Kitadani performed at Otakon in Washington D.C. as a member of JAM Project on August 11.
