Erotic comedy series launched in 2015

This year's 39th issue of Shueisha's Young Jump magazine announced on Thursday that Lynn Okamoto and Mengo Yokoyari's Kimi wa Midara na Boku no Joō (You Are the Queen for Indecent Me) manga series will end in the 40th issue on August 31.

The series follows the protagonist who followed after his childhood friend to a prestigious academy. His childhood friend Subaru is a young lady with perfect grades, looks, and pedigree. The two have grown apart, but a special "good luck charm" brings the two closer.

Okamoto and Yokoyari launched the erotic comedy as a one-shot in Young Jump in January 2012 before launching it as an irregular series in 2015. In addition to running in Young Jump, the manga has also appeared in the 'special edition' Young Jump magazines Miracle Jump and Young Jump Gold. Shueisha released a compiled book for the series in 2013 and the second volume will ship on November 17. The manga has more than 260,000 copies in print.

Okamoto launched Gokukoku no Brynhildr (Brynhildr in the Darkness) in January 2012, and ended the series in March 2016. The manga inspired a 13-episode television anime in 2013. Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired in Japan and Sentai Filmworks released the series on home video. Okamoto's earlier Elfen Lied manga inspired a television anime series that ADV Films released in North America. Okamoto recently launched a new manga titled Parallel Paradise in Kodansha's Young Magazine on March 18.

Yokoyari launched Scum's Wish in Square Enix's Big Gangan magazine in 2012, and Square Enix published the eighth and final volume on March 25. Yen Press published the manga's fourth volume on July 25. The manga inspired both a television anime series and a live-action series, which ran parallel during the winter season. Amazon Prime Video streamed the anime series in Japan and abroad, including in the United States as part of its Anime Strike service. Yokoyari recently ended the Mega Heart manga. Yokoyari also announced in March that she will launch a spinoff of Scum's Wish.
