Yakuza Kiwami 2 Game's Teaser Trailer Previews HD Cutscenes, New Scenario

Full remake of Yakuza 2 game ships on PS4 on December 7

The official YouTube channel for Sega's Yakuza (Ryū ga Gotoku) franchise began streaming a teaser trailer on Saturday for Yakuza Kiwami 2 (Ryū ga Gotoku Kiwami 2) game.

Sega will release Yakuza Kiwami 2 for the PlayStation 4 on December 7. The game will retail for 7,590 yen (about US$69), and a limited edition will retail for 11,590 yen (about US$106).

The game will remake the original Ryū ga Gotoku 2 (Yakuza 2) game, which shipped in Japan in December 2006 for the PlayStation 2 (the game later arrived in the WEST. in September 2008). Sega previously ported HD remasters of the game in Japan only for the PS3 in 2012 and for the Wii U in 2013.

The PS4 remake will use the "Dragon Engine" that Sega created to develop Yakuza 6: The Song of Life. The remake will also include new characters and new playable scenarios.

The first Yakuza Kiwami game is a full remake of the original Yakuza (Ryū ga Gotoku) game, and features completely recreated graphics to run on the PS4 in 1080p and at 60 frames per second. The Japanese cast rerecorded their lines for the game, and Sega's Western release will mark the first time the original Yakuza game will have a Japanese-language release in the WEST. The remake includes enhanced fighting gameplay. The game also includes a new "Majima Everywhere" system, where Goro Majima will show up in the game at "at the most inopportune of times."

The game shipped in Japan on January 21 for the PS3 and the PS4.

Sega will release the game in North America on August 29, and Deep Silver is releasing the game in Europe, where it is listed with the same release date. Both companies will release the game in a digital and physical format.

Sega will also release Yakuza 6: The Song of Life (Ryū ga Gotoku 6: Inochi no Uta) in the WEST. on PlayStation 4. The game is the first mainline release in the franchise that will keep the subtitle in the English title of the game. Sega will release the game in the WEST. in early 2018.
