Funimation to ship BD/DVD home video combo pack on November 21 with limited edition

Funimation revealed the English dub cast on Monday for its Blu-ray Disc and DVD home video release of Kyoto Animation's Myriad Colors Phantom World anime. The cast, under ADR Director Jerry Jewell, includes:

Funimation will release the Blu-ray Disc and DVD combo pack on November 21. The set will have a limited edition release, which will include five lenticular cards that feature a different character on each card.

Funimation describes the anime:

Bounce into Kyoto Animation's new action-adventure series filled with cute girls, menacing phantoms, and the dangers of the human mind. Things that go bump in the night, the seeming nothingness your cat stares into—what if something was there and what if you could see it? In Haruhiko Ichijo's world, that's the reality. After an experimental virus altered human brain chemistry, people began seeing “phantoms”—creatures once thought to be mere imagination. Most are harmless, but for the few that cause trouble, it's up to those with special abilities to stop them.

Haruhiko, along with his fairy-phantom companion Ruru, and the brash yet vivacious Mai are part of the Phantom Hunting Club at Hosea Academy. Though their abilities are impressive, they're kind of the worst team—until they recruit a few fresh faces! With phantom-eater Reina, the cool and powerful Koito, and the adorable Kurumi on their team, the girls and Haruhiko are ready to take on any phantom. But when it comes to facing creatures born of the human mind, what dangers await?

The series premiered in January 2016 and Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired in Japan. Crunchyroll previously announced plans to release the series on Blu-ray Disc and DVD home video in North America with an English dub, although Funimation has since taken over Crunchyroll's home video distribution.

Tatsuya Ishihara (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions!, Sound! Euphonium) directed the series at Kyoto Animation, based on Sōichirō Hatano's original Musaigen no Phantom World novel. Kazumi Ikeda (Clannad television anime, second Kanon television anime, Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions!) designed the characters and served as chief animation director. Shirabi provided the original illustrations for Hatano's novel. Fumihiko Shimo (Kokoro Connect, Infinite Stratos, Clannad) handled series composition, and EFFY composed the soundtrack.

Kyoto Animation's novel imprint published the novel written by Hatano and illustrated by Shirabi in December 2013. The book was an honorable mention in the fourth Kyoto Animation Awards.
