Uta Macross Game App Recasts Macross 7's Mylene With Aya Hirano

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Mylene's original voice actress Tomo Sakurai retired last year

The official website for the Uta Macross Sumaho De Culture rhythm smartphone game confirmed on Wednesday that Aya Hirano (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya's Haruhi Suzumiya, White Album's Yuki Morikawa, Fairy Tail's Lucy Heartfilia) is voicing the character Mylene Jenius in the game. She replaces Tomo Sakurai, who voiced the character in the Macross 7 anime, due to Sakurai's retirement last year.

The iOS and Android game launched on August 3, delayed from its previously planned spring debut.

The game features the "tactical music unit" Walkūre from Macross Delta and other Macross series characters such as Sheryl Nome and Ranka Lee. The title is the "first super-dimensional rhythm game" in the Macross franchise and features various popular songs from the world of Macross.
