Bokurano's Mohiro Kitoh Puts Hayabusa-chan mo Tondemasu Manga on Hiatus

This year's 19th issue of Kodansha's Evening magazine revealed on September 12 that manga creator Mohiro Kitoh is putting his Hayabusa-chan mo Tondemasu (Hayabusa-chan is Flying Too) manga on hiatus due to having to recover from surgery for his spinal canal stenosis. Kitoh noted that he will somehow be able to return to normal and work on the manga again.

The manga centers on Hayabusa, a girl who is actually a god. The story begins when Hayabusa is looking intently at a man eating croquettes in a park. When the man gives her a croquette, she sprouts mechanical wings and flies away. When the man returns the next day, Hayabusa is there to thank him and offers him a ride in the sky, for which she turns into a Ki-43 Hayabusa fighter plane to do so.

The manga launched in Evening on January 10.

Kitoh's Bokurano manga originally ran in Shogakukan's Ikki magazine from 2004 to 2009. Viz Media published all 11 volumes under its Signature Ikki line as Bokurano: Ours. The Bokurano manga inspired Gonzo's 2007 television anime series by the same name.

Dark Horse Comics also published part of Kitoh's Shadow Star (Narutaru) manga in English. The manga inspired a television anime adaptation titled Shadow Star Narutaru in 2013.
