Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card Anime Casts Minori Suzuki, Natsuki Hanae

Suzuki plays Akiho Shinomoto, Hanae plays Yuna D. Kaito in anime premiering in January

The November issue of Kodansha's Nakayoshi magazine is revealing more cast members for the television anime of CLAMP's Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card manga on October 3. Minori Suzuki will play Akiho Shinomoto, and Natsuki Hanae will play Yuna D. Kaito.

The anime's official website previously streamed the anime's first promotional video last week.

The anime will premiere on NHK BS Premium at 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, January 7, 2018. The anime will then repeat on Fridays at 11:45 p.m.

CLAMP launched the Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card-hen sequel manga series in Nakayoshi on June 3, 2016. The manga's third volume shipped on September 13, and a special edition bundled the Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card-hen Prologue - Sakura to Futatsu no Kuma OVA. The manga series now has more than 1.5 million copies in print.

Morio Asaka is returning from the first television anime series and two films to direct the new series at Madhouse. CLAMP's Nanase Ohkawa is handling the series composition and is writing the scripts. Kunihiko Hamada (animation director for previous TV series and two films) is the character designer with costume and card designs by CLAMP's Mokona. Masafumi Mima is directing the sound, and Takayuki Negishi is composing the music. NHK, Kodansha, and NHK Enterprise are producing.

Maaya Sakamoto is returning to the franchise to perform the opening theme song "CLEAR." Sakamoto wrote the song's lyrics and Ikimono-gakarimember Yoshiki Mizuno composed the song.
