Streaming planned for "select digital outlets"

Sentai Filmworks announced on Friday that it has licensed the second season of the ClassicaLoid television anime series. The company plans to stream the series on select digital outlets for the fall 2017 simulcast season, and later plans to release it on home video.

ClassicaLoid 2 will premiere in Japan on October 7 at 5:35 p.m. on NHK's E-Tele.

Yoshitsugu Matsuoka and Junichi Suwabe are joining the cast as Richard Wagner and Antonín Dvořák, respectively. The returning cast includes:

Kei Umahiki (episode director for Aikatsu!, A Certain Magical Index, Dinosaur King) is taking over for Yōichi Fujita to direct the sequel, while Fujita is staying on as story supervisor. Makoto Tsuchibayashi (Sengoku Basara franchise) again serves as original character designer, and Seiichi Hashimoto (Fusé: Memoirs of a Huntress) is again adapting the character designs for animation. Michihiro Tsuchiya (PriPara, Cross Game) is returning to oversee the series' scripts by Miya Asakawa (Polar Bear's Café, Noein - to your other self), Tsutomu Kamishiro (Bakuman., Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal), Tsuyoshi Kida (Bleach), Kyo Kogure (Satomi-chan Chino 8 Danshi light novels author), Yuka Yamada (Non Non Biyori, Mushi-Shi), and Shuichi Kamiyama (Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's, Heybot!).

Masashi Hamauzu is composing the music. Tomoyasu Hotei is performing the opening theme song "ClassicaLoid: ClassicaLoid no Theme," and he is also serving as Mujik producer alongside tofubeats, Daisuke Asakura, EHAMIC, and Tsunku. Kōichi Tsutaya and Chisato are the new Mujik producers for Wagner and Dvořák, respectively.

The original anime series premiered in October 2016. Crunchyroll, Anime Network Online, and Viewster all streamed the series as it aired. Sentai Filmworks has licensed the series.
