Live-Action Futari Monologue Show Announces Theme Song, Premiere Date

posted on by Karen Ressler
Series premieres online on October 9

The official website for the live-action web series inspired by Yū Tsunamino's Futari Monologue manga announced on Friday that NMB48's Sayaka Yamamoto is performing the show's theme song "Let's go crazy." Yamamoto will also play a gym teacher in the series itself.

In addition, the website announced that the series will stream on AbemaTV's AbemaSPECIAL Channel beginning on October 9. The first episode began streaming early on July 28, and is also available on Cygames' YouTube channel.

The series stars Haruka Fukuhara (Kirakira ☆ Precure a la Mode's Cure Custard) as Hinata Omimura and Miki Yanagi (Doubutsu Sentai Zyuohger's Sera/Zyuohger Shark) as Mikage Mikuriya. Kenji Kurata is directing and writing the script.

In the story, Hinata is an introverted high school girl and Mikage is the "gal" who sits next to her in class. Hinata realizes Mikage is her friend from elementary school, and she wants to strike up the friendship again.

Tsunamino's ongoing manga series launched last October on Cygames' Cycomi website. The manga was included when, in May, Cygames and Kodansha announced a partnership to publish manga from Cycomi in print. The first compiled volume shipped on July 28 and the second volume will ship on October 30.
