Isobe Isobee Monogatari gets 2 side-story chapters in November, January

This year's 46th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine published the last chapter of Ryō Nakama's Isobe Isobee Monogatari ~Ukiyo wa Tsurai yo~ manga and Ryūhei Tamura's Hungry Marie manga on Monday.

The issue also revealed that Isobe Isobee Monogatari ~Ukiyo wa Tsurai yo~ will have two side-story chapters. The first one will focus on Isobe Isobee as a high schooler, and will debut in the Jump Giga magazine on November 24. The second one will focus on Isobe Isobee as an office worker, and will debut on the Shonen Jump+ website in early January.

Shueisha describes the Isobe Isobee Monogatari ~Ukiyo wa Tsurai yo~ manga:

A loser samurai—Isobee, who lives in any way a dawdling, slacking life, takes action (sort of) in the city of Edo. Weekly Shonen Jump's gone mad with a new style Ukiyoe Gag Manga!!

Ryō Nakama originally published the manga as a one-shot, then he launched the serialized version in Weekly Shonen Jump in October 2013. Shueisha published the manga's 14th compiled volume on July 4. The series inspired a four-episode series of online Flash anime shorts that premiered in December 2013. A new "mame anime" (bean anime) of 30-second shorts starring Daiki Yamashita as Isobee Isobe premiered online in December 2015, with more episodes in April 2016. The mame anime's second season debuted on March 6.

The manga also inspired a stage play adaptation that ran in April 2016.

The second volume of the Hungry Marie manga revealed earlier this month that the manga's fourth volume would be the last volume. the fourth volume will ship simultaneously with the third volume on December 4.

Hungry Marie launched in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine on February 27. Viz Media published the first three chapters in English in its digital Weekly Shonen Jump as part of its "Jump Start" initiative.

The battle romantic comedy manga centers on a boy named Taiga and a girl who lives next door to him. He has always liked her, but when he finally gets the chance to talk to her she brings him back home as a human sacrifice to revive Marie Antoinette's daughter. After the ritual goes wrong, he wakes up in the princess' body.

Tamura drew the Beelzebub manga in Weekly Shonen Jump from 2009 to 2014.
