C3 AFA Singapore to Screen World Premiere of Record of Grancrest War Anime's 1st Episode

The Anime Festival Asia convention revealed on Tuesday that it will screen the global premiere of the first episode of the upcoming Record of Grancrest War (Grancrest Senki) anime, and it will host the anime's voice actor Kentarō Kumagai. In addition, the event revealed on Friday that it will host voice actress Izumi Kitta. Anime Festival Asia also revealed the list of Nogizaka46 members attending the convention.
Kumagai voices the character Theo Conello in Record of Grancrest War.
The anime will premiere in January 2018 and will air on Tokyo MX, Tochigi TV, Gunma TV, ABC Asahi Broadcasting, TV Aichi, and BS11.
Mamoru Hatakeyama (Shōwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjū, Sankarea: Undying Love) is directing the series at A-1 Pictures. Ryo Mizuno and tabletop RPG writer Shunsaku Yano are in charge of series composition. WriteWorks is credited with the script, and Hiroshi Yakou (animation director for Prison School, Heavy Object) is designing the characters. Yūgo Kanno (Psycho-Pass, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond Is Unbreakable) is composing the music, and Yoshikazu Iwanami (Fate/Zero, Kill la Kill) is sound director.
Author Ryo Mizuno and illustrator Miyū launched the light novel series in 2013, and Kadokawa shipped the ninth volume on October 20. Mizuno previously wrote the Record of Lodoss War light novel series.
Kitta debuted as a voice actress in 2008, with her first major roles as Nozomi Bitou in Hell Girl: Three Vessels, and Michi in Weiß Survive in 2009. She also voiced the major character Cordelia Glauca in the Tantei Opera Milky Holmes franchise. She has also voiced roles in such anime as Freezing (Cleo Brand), Cardfight!! Vanguard (Misaki Tokura), Dragon Crisis! (Mao Aikawa), WATAMOTE (Tomoko Kuroki), Tiger Mask W (Hikari Kuruma), and BanG Dream! (Rii Uzawa).
The members of Nogizaka46 attending the convention include Asuka Saitō, Erika Ikuta, Kana Nakada, Kazumi Takayama, Mai Shinuchi, Manatsu Akimoto, Marika Itō, Minami Hoshino, Miona Hori, Misa Etō, Reika Sakurai, Rina Ikoma, Sayuri Inoue, Sayuri Matsumura, and Yūri Saitō.
C3 AFA Singapore is one of five in content company Sotsu Co., Ltd. and Singaporean events and marketing agency Sozo Pte. Ltd.'s "C3 AFA" joint events that bring together their C3 and Anime Festival Asia events. Aside from Singapore, the events have also run in Thailand, Indonesia, and Japan, and will also have an event in Hong Kong in February 2018.
The convention will take place at the Suntec Singapore Exhibition & Convention Center on November 24-26. Other musical guests include ClariS, FLOW, fripSide, Luce Twinkle Wink☆, May'n, Shiena Nishizawa, Tomohisa Sakō, Konomi Suzuki, Moso Calibration, TRUE, Mashiro Ayano, Iris, Nano, and Nogizaka46. The event will screen an exhibition by musical group EGOIST. The event will also host voice actors Toshiyuki Toyonaga Tetsuya Kakihara, and Yūsuke Kobayashi, as well as voice actresses Kiyono Yasuno, Narumi Kaho, Hibiku Yamamura, and Rika Abe. Producer Kohei Kawase will also attend. The event will also hold a preview screening of the first episode of Kyoto Animation's upcoming Violet Evergarden television anime, which will also involve appearances by animators Akiko Takase and Haruka Fujita, and voice actresses Yui Ishikawa and Minori Chihara.
