Megumu Soramichi's Chivalry of a Failed Knight Manga Ends in December

Original light novel series inspired TV anime in 2015

The 44th chapter of Megumu Soramichi's Rakudai Kishi no Cavalry (Chivalry of a Failed Knight) manga on Square Enix's Gangan Online website revealed on Thursday that the manga's next chapter on December 7 will be the final chapter.

Soramichi launched the manga on the website in 2014. Square Enix published the manga's 10th volume on October 11.

The manga adapts writer Riku Misora's and illustrator Won's light novel series of the same name. Misora and Won launched the light novel series in 2013, and SoftBank Creative published the novel's 13th volume on October 12.

The "school sword action" story revolves around Magic Knights, modern magic-users who fight with weapons converted from their souls. Ikki Kurogane goes to a school for these Magic Knights, but he is the "Failed Knight" or "Worst One" who is failing because he has no magical skills. However, one day, he is challenged to a duel by Stella, a foreign princess and the "Number One" student. In this duel, "the loser must be obedient for life."

The novel series inspired a 12-episode television anime series that premiered in October 2015. Sentai Filmworks licensed the anime, and streamed it on Hulu as it aired.

HIDIVE began streaming the show's English dub in June. Sentai Filmworks released the series on Blu-ray Disc and DVD with an English dub on June 13.
