Yoiko, Fighting Beauty Wulong's Ishikawa Ends Wonderland Manga, Starts New Series

New BABEL historical manga launches on December 22

This year's 22nd issue of Shogakukan's Big Comic Superior magazine published the final chapter of Yugo Ishikawa's Wonderland manga (pictured at right) on October 27.

Ishikawa launched the manga in the magazine in April 2015, right after he ended his Sprite serialization after six years. Shogakukan published the fifth volume of Wonderland on June 30, and it will publish the manga's sixth and final volume on November 30.

Wonderland centers on a high school girl named Yukko. Yukko is living her peaceful everyday life, when one morning she gets in an accident, and discovers she has shrunk. Yukko must now learn to overcome her fear in a world where everything has become huge and can easily crush her.

Ishikawa also announced on Twitter on October 27 that he will launch a new historical manga titled "BABEL" (pictured below) in Big Comic Superior in its 2018 second issue, which will ship on December 22.

Ishikawa's Yoiko manga inspired a television anime adaptation that aired in 1998-1999. His Kappa no Kaikata manga also inspired a television anime series of shorts that aired in 2004, and his Fighting Beauty Wulong manga inspired a television anime series that aired in 2005-2006.
