FLOWER MOUND, Tex. (October 1, 2010) – Netflix, Inc. and FUNimation Entertainment announced today a non-exclusive agreement through which 15 million Netflix members in the United States and Canada can instantly watch hundreds of hours of anime beginning today. The material will be available to stream from Netflix for a limited time.

Among the more than 30 anime series that are now available to watch instantly at Netflix under the new agreement are Afro Samurai, Basilisk, Claymore, Fruits Basket, Fullmetal Alchemist, Gunslinger Girl, Mushi-Shi, Samurai 7, Witchblade and animated and live-action feature-length films like Vexille, Origin and Ichi in HD.

“We have offered our titles for rental through Netflix for years but this is the first time we have made our content available for streaming on the service,” said Mario Rodriguez, Senior Brand Manager. “We are offering more anime content than anyone else and we will be expanding that list over time. It's part of our overall strategy to offer consumers our content to watch when, where and how they want to.”
