Despite that fact that the real Hokuto spoiler[is a massive dragon], I thought her puzzled expression towards spoiler[the mass of exploding talismans] was adorable

OMG Kon is just adorable. Having Ai's VA makes her even more cute. I love how she normally stutters, but talks perfectly against potential enemies.

KON! Oh God, she is adorable. I mean, the way spoiler[she stood up for her master Harutora. That tail scene was priceless though.] I'll look forward to the spoiler[tag match] next week but I got a feeling Harutora might lose. Oh and Natsume is jealous as usual

Kon - DAAAAAAAAAW!!! You can't go wrong with a loli fox spirit who stammers and has a blunt cut. I still don't understand how Stupid-tora can be both human and a familiar, but oh well. How can a familiar have a familiar?

Because he's essentially Natsume's familiar in "name" only. Unlike with Kon or Hokuto, neither Haru nor Natsume are connected on spiritual level and share spiritual energy. The main effect of the ceremony on Harutora was to awaken his Spirit Sight. Harutora becoming Natsume is more along lines of becoming her Knight as customary of branch members of Tsuchimikado family who become Onmyoji. |

There is no rule that say a familiar can't have familiars. In other anime, even a dragon or Kirin familiar can have other familiars. He probably just bind to Natsume by some kind of magic contract. In other word, he is her salve and there is no way for him to get out of the contract. |

Episode 4
Kon is indeed awesome, she is cute, in fact I thought that all she had going for her was that she was a cute loli fox-girl who was pretty much stalking him. But then she mentioned spoiler[fire control], made me think she could be cool too, and then spoiler[she went into crazy combat mode]. The fact she is voiced by Aki Toyosaki is icing on the cake, the voice reminds me so much of Uiharu, always happy to hear her. Also, what are the chances that the rival girl might spoiler[have an accidental crush on Natsume]? None of the classmates seem to spoiler[realize that she is a girl after all.] I am getting a bit annoyed at the "familiar" in subtitles is kind of annoying me. When I think of familiar I think of "tsukaima", although whether that is a made up word for that series I don't know. But I know that they are using the work "shikigami", which I think would be fine untranslated. |

So far it's looking good. Their new class was rather interesting as well ^^ spoiler[Natsume] was all weird and awkward.. Seems like everyone was spoiler[clued in except Harutora. If Natsume had a chest, spoiler[hiding her gender] would likely be a lot harder, but she's small, so it's easier for the uniform to hide her figure

Yeah, it's going to be awkward later if she ever finds out the cold stone truth. I wonder if she will deny it though. Anyways, episode was okay I guess. That fight was way spoiler[too short though imo...] |

I could definitely do with fewer of these "action" scenes. The show is way more entertaining when dealing with issues surrounding another kind of "action."

The thing is that action scenes are fine atleast in the manga/LN. Hell ep3 was arguably superior to manga. The problem here is because that pacing so breaknecking fast there isn't whole a lot of time devoted or build up to them. The anime staff basically slammed a Vol (manga wise about 10 chapters, 40 pages each) worth of material into 2 episodes. They pretty much rushing though the material here despite having 2 cours to work with. This isn't as much problem for non manga/LN readers though. It's solid episode atleast since covers quite a lot of ground. |
