Puh-lease. You post your nonsense about Patrick maybe being a bad guy, and I politely considered the pros before gently...gently I say....explaining why I thought it was doubtful. I posit that maybe the amulets are some kind of trap or plot device, and you immediately start acting like I'm holed up in a rented basement, wrapped up in tin foil so the aliens won't catch on while I smoke crack and post conspiracy theories with a stolen cell phone. Hmmn, I'm not sure how to respond, so pick one and fill in a wink emoji: A) What do you mean free? I take out the trash and mow the lawn you know! B) Those pesky pronouns. It's your mother's basement... C) We can't all live rent free while being studied in a lab so that we'll never happen again... D) Exxxxcellllent :::::,Making Mr. Burns style steeple fingers::::::. If I'm wrong, I merely posted a theory that didn't pan out for the 394th time. But if the amulet is sketchy, I'm going have a license to mock for weeks... E) So, (cough) speaking of that OP, maybe the fact that it looks like the blonde is going to be making some serious inroads with Edwin is a hint that there is something wrong with the light heroine? (I told you I cheat and study the opening and closing sequences...) |

Oh geez, I had forgotten about the Blonde. Yeah, as much as I'm enjoying the comedic aspect of our socially clueless (there are ya happy, DuskyPredator???) OP "anti-heroine", I wouldn't mind if an actual story kicks in for the back half of the cours.

Yah, right now we've got an anime without an active antagonist. The prince occasionally acts like a dillhole badly in need of a beatdown, but he doesn't seem evil. The principal is a bit of an enigma, but he seems to be doing the king and Queen's bidding to nurture Yumiella. The light heroine just asked Yumiella for help with magic and seems to have accepted her. The demon king supposedly isn't due for another three years...
It feels like one of these "seems" is going to have to rear an ugly head sooner or later. |

Episode 8
Mama Yumiella was just too cute. I love how she continues to merrily alter the events of the game for her own ends. Oh, does Alicia and her allies need a golden dragon transport to defeat the Demon Lord? Too bad, so sad, but Yumiella wants a "taxi" in case she needs to get out of Dodge, pronto. Poor Patrick. Your emotions really bladed you when they dictated you falling for Dumiella. |

There were a number of good parts of the episode. Like Alisa with her light senses freaking out over just the egg. Yumiella in general making herself look more villainous with her dark, minion, or the sort of fear of her making the strongest dragon. Also, Eleanora being smitten with Ryu too.

I thought Yumiella's cute baby monster was pretty amusing throughout. As to Patrick, the things I noticed were that (A) He apparently took Yumiella's words about only dating someone stronger than her seriously and has embarked on a journey to raise his level - lifting weights, eating wheaties and whatnot. (B) Patrick dropped that comment about doing something about Prince Edwin and then the anime quickly switched focus. I'm not reading in any conspiracies to kidnap Edwin and beat the crap out of him in a basement (the anime should be so lucky), but I am curious as to what's going on there.
And is the appearance of this foreign spy from Remlast finally providing a proper villain? I'm starting to wonder if this anime is actually a slice of life with bells and whistles, and everything is all mild misunderstandings. Maybe the demon lord is going to show up in a tropical shirt at the end going "My bad, my bad. That whole prophecy thing? I was writing some fanfic. I gave up on the whole conquest thing centuries ago." . Well, in any case, it's always a fun watch. |

I enjoyed the "Escorting the Light Heroine through the dungeon to level up thing." Not like it's a new idea at this point - it's basically a riff off the same gag where Yumiella cluelessly plunges her class into a nightmarish leveling up experience - but seeing the pristine heroine getting put through basic training was still fun.
And I'm still flummoxed as to where this anime is actually going. I mean, I assume Patrick and Yumiella are going to form a relationship at some point, but I have no idea why the closing piece keeps hinting that the blonde airhead and Edwin (or Blonde Airhead II) seem destined to be an item when the show has made virtually no progress in that area. And if the game world's plot can seize control of the heroine, does that mean Yumiella might find herself being compelled to do things against her will at some point? .I'm fine with the world having a fate or predetermined order Final Destination style, and I'm fine with characters fighting it. But getting possessed is a bummer. . |

I suspect that Yumiella's unique status as a reincarno probably makes her immune from the kind of plot enforcement that Alicia is subject to.

I'd be more worried that the world would compel Yumiella to fight the heroine and her harem since the impetus seems to be protecting the game storyline's integrity. But hopefully Blood's right about Yumiella's isekai immunization protocol. |

My previous idea may have something to it.
I think the world of the game is mostly refocusing itself around Yumiella. Otherwise it would have compelled other things to be done "properly"- like that girl becoming Alicia's friend and compelling Alicia and the knights to capture the dragon. BUT the rules of the game say Alicia's light magic is necessary to finish off the Demon Lord, so leveling her up at least is still necessary. |
