Demographic: Shounen

Animation Studio: Domerica

Genres: action, fantasy

Themes: bishounen, historical, swordplay

Plot Summary: Four swordsmen, whose former master is the demon king Oda Nobunaga, decide to go to the Honnō-ji Incident, where Nobunaga is assassinated. There, they'll have to make a choice.

Air Date & Platform:
April 8, 2024 (Tuesday)
Available on: Crunchyroll

Episode Count / Runtime: 8 episodes
----------------------------------

I'm not familiar with the franchise. I think this is a spinoff, which was originally a stageplay adaptation? Samurai and swordsmen themed titles are always intriguing to me, so I might go back and check some this out, at some point.

The previous seasons were fun (there are also some movies I believe), the story is about a bunch of legendary/historical swords who have become quirky hot guys and they hang out together at their base. They sometimes get sent on missions to deal with monsters who want to change history for some reason.

Swords personified into bishie guys to stop time-traveling baddies? That actually sounds pretty neat. I was interested in Katsugeki, a while back, only because it was animated by ufotable. But since there aren't a lot of episodes for this franchise as a whole, maybe I'll move this and Hakuoki up my queue.
