Why do they need to put 6 episodes on two Blu-ray discs?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but considering there's not much in the way of extras I'd have thought you could fit 6 episodes to a disc easy.

Didn't care for Saekano. It's one of those meta-parody-satire-whatever shows that quickly gets stuck in the rut of just being exactly what it looks like, then turning to the camera & saying "look! It's exactly what it looks like! So meta!" It's jokes have all been done better & its characters quickly wore out their welcome, particularly when it became clear that all the friction between the members will never lead to anything more than tsun-girl shouting at otaku-guy before getting back in her box. Heck Megumi even has to find things for herself to do by the end because otaku-guy has pretty much forgotten about her. Those things don't include telling otaku-guy to fudge off, of course, because no girl would ever think to say that.

In a sense, I had the same problem with the MC of Saekano that I did with Konosuba. There's been a move among some LNs to make the MC a prick, basically like Yamazaki from NHK, only without the fragility that hides behind his aggressive, know-it-all facade. Except because these are now apparently written by & for people like Yamazaki who don't want to admit that other half to their personality, none of the other characters do what you'd expect them to do when some tiresome loser is pointing out all their faults to them & just walk away from having anything to do with him.

At least in Konosuba they're stuck in the world regardless of if they like each other. In Saekano there is no reason beyond half arsed cliches like blondy & busty having secretly loved otaku-guy all along to explain why they put up with his crap.

Agreed I don`t know why they constantly make protagonist that suck all of the life and destroy the fun. Just like Konosuba.

Its Aniplex. They will do everything to rip their customers off.

Because it's taboo to do that in japan, that's pretty much the only reason

I'm a Saekano apologist, but only because I know what happens in the light novels.

The failure of the first season isn't they they "forgot" to forward the plot, but that they went woth a single cour for an inherently slow moving story. This is apparent as we're introduced to Michiru, a character present in episode 0, the opening, and the ending, alllll the way over into the last 3 episodes. A two-cour season would've benefitted the reception of Saekano better, as much of that missing drama starts after the events of the first season ends. Most of the first four novels consist of harem antics, lame metahumor, and character building and, of course, the anime ends at the end of the fourth novel...

Although, that wouldn't work out as it would be almost caught up to the light novel at that point, so of course they're stretching the release out to accomodate for the author. Or they could've just postponed Saekano's anime adaptation rather than squandering its popularity and critical success on a mediocre first season that spends its entirety virtually introducing new characters.

For those disappointed by Saekano so far, I wouldn't count out the second season next year.

With just the first frame of the last episode i knew what they were going to do....... ughhhhhh I thought this would be those simple single season shows. Now I have no idea whether there will be a next season or not. Can they not adapt light novels without a plan to actually end it properly or make it clearer the rest would be produced into anime. The show was certainly entertaining enough that I'd watch another season of it. Some might have thought saekano has worked the harem trope into a drawl but that's not a sin dang it! Season two, let us have at it!
