I will be disappointed if the attendance doesn't increase. Looks like another great year.

Holy hell that's an insanely good line up. Now would be a great time to win the lotto. Sphere is easily the best "idol" group for my tastes....never thought they'd come to the US. Amazing

I'm going to need to make it to Anime Expo one of these years soon. Line ups like this along with all of the incredible staff and other guests, like freaking Shingo Natsume, is well worth the trip.

It's seeing lineups of guests like this that make me want to go to AX, despite my personal dislike for the larger cons(I just don't like the large crowds, really). Unfortunately damn thing costs too much for me to attend, once I add in the cost of travel and crash space. Crying or Very sad

Apparently not all the guests in the lineup will be available during con for panels and autographs.

Shingo Natsume will also be guest at AnimeFest in Dallas in August, which may be easier for you to get to than AX.

Well, looks like all of those that thought AX was dead in the water because of their policies will have to eat their words. This is great lineup and will surely draw just as many people as always.

As mentioned in an earlier news item, "Minami" is the new stage name of Minami Kuribayashi, so the encyclopedia link for her should go back to her old name, or maybe the entry itself should be updated to reflect her new stage name.

Ah, I didn't know that! I will be at Otakon in August, I guess that sort of kills any chance of him being there, unfortunately. Oh well. I'm glad to see him making the rounds, at least. Smile

Using a bunch of popular people to draw people back in doesn't really cancel out having terrible policies if that's the case. Not sure what some people get on about sometimes and what associations they're trying to make with their points but two completely separate issues here.

In any case there's definitely some interesting guests here, but it's something I'd still never go to. I just don't think I could personally stand being around other anime fans for more than a few minutes at a time absolute maximum anymore. God knows after years of it even dealing with ones on the internet for any extended period can test the limits of my tolerance and patience for petty nonsense when I'm just trying to enjoy myself and a hobby with time off work. I actually went to Anime North which is a mid sized convention with some actual tolerable people attending and staying at the hotel for 5 years straight but won't be going this year for similar reasons, just want to relax that weekend and not have to risk dealing with any bullshit that weekend.

Hi guys.. I don't know if this was already mentioned on another news article, but Eir Aoi is performing at ACEN this weekend! Smile

Also, while this is unrelated, I think this should be a bigger deal than it is; Studio Trigger is coming to Anime Midwest in July!

Tell me about it...I have never once been able to attend any of these concerts because tickets sell out so fast.

On the other hand, you don't have to deal with GIFT. I feel it's more pronounced with anime fans than any other fan groups where I've intermingled both online and off.

Anyone think it's shady that AX "accidentally" has more premier fan badges available after the guest announcements were made?

Anime Expo is really going all out with these popular guests! Smile No doubt it'll be an exciting party lasting all throughout the night!

Of course, there's still that issue concerning the SPJA's Youth Protection Policy, but that's another story for another day...

GIFT?

Except for a few extremely reserved fans, I've found most fans of anime music that I've met in Japan to at least be friendly. Each group's/artist's fans are different though.

One Japanese fan that I exchanged contact details with even sent me an autograph card signed by several artists including Haruna Luna after I sent him some tickets to concerts in Japan that I couldn't use myself.
