What surprised me a lot is that any of Natsume Ono's manga is getting an anime adaptation. That's because a lot of her (if it is a her) manga is usually set in foreign locales,rarely in Japan. I don't know if that makes it hard for any anime makers who adapt her material because a lot of it isn't set in Japan.
