I saw Part 1 on a plane and Part 2 at a Japanese Film Festival. I haven't seen the series or read the manga but both of the movies were great. Can't wait for the next one.

That's disappointing. The movies were quite weak in comparison to the anime series. Many people like myself hoped for a third anime installment, but I'm guessing it will now never see the light of day.

Wow, they're just going to skip a whole lot of content and place it even after where the anime leaves off? I don't know if I should watch these movies or continue hopelessly waiting for season 3.

in absence of a season three, I really would like to see these movies. I always like to know how shows end.

Shoot, even if the series did get released here in the USA I still think I would like to see all of the movies - or at least have the option to do so. Kamishiraishi-san is almost too cute to play Kanade.

And the young man who plays "Porky" isn't overweight either. I found both him and Kamishiraishi physically unconvincing given their representations in the anime. (I haven't read the manga.)

Like any adaptation of a lengthy story, the movie had to cut out way too much material to fit in two hours. There's really very little character development, especially for Porky, Desk-kun and Kana-chan. I'm usually generally forgiving of such matters, but for some reason the Chihayafuru movies just felt too superficial.
