Somewhere in their casting process, I wonder if this thought (or something akin to these words) came across them: because he is a teen boy, he should played by an actual boy. If we can't find a boy, there are plenty of adult males out there that could play him.

The main character is like 13-14, so for me I think it would actually sound stranger if an adult male voiced him. Plus Yuko Sanpei does a damn good job voicing him and she's been voicing young male teens for years.

Tsugumomo has been surprisingly good so far and I hope it actually becomes a bit more popular.

Sometimes having an adult male being the voice of a teenager character can make him sound a tad older than his age...
