I've only read like 15 chapters before. Not surprised that it's getting an anime and I guess a studio can make it into at least 13 episodes.

Morning Two has some strange lineup. I hope Shounen Note gets an anime someday.

And I was thinking about buying this after reading three chapters. Was waiting until I bought the last volume of Tokyo Ghoul. This is great news! I'll still buy the manga, thought. Anime smile

I was expecting this since a guy that worked for Vertical (manga company) said it would get an anime soon. Looks like he wasn't making things up. Curious about what studio will handle this.

This is an interesting choice. I enjoy the manga a lot. The main romance is cute, but it's mostly a police vs. terrorists thriller, with some "vampires (in this case, a species separate from humans or some kind of genetically engineered human/vampire hybrids) are people, too!" stuff mixed in.spoiler[ It also has some smart ideas about self loathing and analogies about how people can be afraid of hurting their partner with their own powerful sexual urges] One major flaw: spoiler[ It completely ignores the existence of menstruation for one of its central premises to work, that vampires transform at the sight or smell of even very small amounts of blood. That kind of annoys me]

A whole bunch of really great seinen manga with supernatural elements came out around the same time this year (in the English market): Devil's Line, about vampires as analogy of sexuality, Happiness! also about vampires as analogy for emergent sexuality, but a much different take. Immortal Hounds (published by Vertical, like Devil's Line) which is *not* about vampires--it's about an intriguing world in which everyone is immortal until their designated death at retirement age. A terrorist group starts spreading some sort of virus that makes young people mortal. The manga follows a police force determined to figure out who they are, figure out how they work and take them down. Immortal Hounds is definitely my favorite of the lot, and I hope it gets an anime soon, too.

It sounds interesting and it is rare for an anime series about vampires to have a college student as the protagonist.

Hm. Judging from the small bit of art shown, this may end up looking a lot more generic than the manga, which would be a shame. Will still watch, assuming it doesn't bungle things completely.

Menstrual "blood" is not blood, it is lysed (disintegrating) endometrial tissue. It is red because the endometrium has a lot of blood vessels and therefore a lot of blood, but minimal or no live intact blood cells survive the lysation process. Liver is red for much the same reason; if your vampires respond to menstrual blood then they should also respond to liver pâté.
