How does Rumiko Takahashi keep getting snubbed from the Hall of Fame?

It's also both mildly humorous and tragic the only non-manga in the "Best U.S. Edition of International Material—Asia" category was the one that won.

As a general comic fan, I’m rather happy about this since material from Japan has dominated the Asia category for years. It’s not terribly surprising a historical autobio type comic (or in this case mock autobio) won either. That subject has also been favored in the last several years. The book received a lot of nominations and there has rightfully been serious press since last year about The Art of Charlie Chan Hock Chye too.

Goodnight Punpun, Princess Jellyfish, Wandering Island, and even Orange all have a chance at a nomination again.

You're putting way too much importance on the Eisners. The fact Squirrel Girl can win one shows how worthless they are.

Takahashi has won numerous Japanese industry awards like the Shogankukan Manga award. Those are far more prestigious and coveted.

Specially considering that Japan's comic industry produces way more comics than NA (in the 1990s the number of pages of comic books printed per year was about 1 trillion pages in Japan compared to only about 3 billion pages in the US) despite having 1/3 of population.

Well, the ANN pays attention to this prize and to the Oscars because this is a North American site about Japanese comics and animation so they like to check wheter the North American mainstream recognizes Japanese comics and animation. Usually it doesn't (which I find rather unfair considering how much bigger comics are in Japan vis the US).

I cannot get into Saga for the life of me despite it constantly sweeping. Maybe I'm weird like that.

Yes ... especially looking how much of it on the American side is just about super heroes of justice anyway ... That in turn are just largly being made these days to get an live action movie made out of it ... cause the sales for most of these things are really low and outside of American these things are even more niche.
But when they turn into into a live action movie with effects that are more or less ANIMATION everyone goes crazy cause now it's about real actors and that's really mature Rolling Eyes .
But when an actual cartoon get's made of these super hero things it's just for childen right Rolling Eyes .
