The music sounds really good, the main people working on it have suitably impressive portfolios, and the key visuals (and what little we saw in the trailer) look very nice. Between this, FMP and AoT, 2018 is shaping up to be pretty exciting already.

Unfortunate that Ufotable is not making Fate series this year because they choose to animate Katsugeki/Touken Ranbu. I do like how they animate Fate/Zero and Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works.

I assume that this the scene where Hakuno frst summons his Servant. Damn he really is beat up, but I'm glad to see he bleeds instead of having his body "glitched out" like everyone in the game when they're hurt/dying |

Hmm the fact that these PVs have almost nothing animated on top of the fact that having played Extra, it feels like they're going to need to do some serious work to adapt it into an interesting tv series doesn't inspire a whole lot of faith. Extra is basically the high school magic battle version of Fate, and that is one of the most over used and generic premises. I'm a big fan of Fate and Nero so I'll watch this regardless, but I have serious doubt whether or not it will actually be good.

I'm expecting it to adapt Extella Zero and not Extra. Thats a goddamn shame as I really enjoyed Extra but Extella Zero just made me angry considering how hard certain characters get sidelined (Caster, Archer, etc.)
Shame they went with Male MC again as well, considering they did the same with First Order (which really makes me think it'll be Extella Zero.) Was hoping they'd go with the female MC considering the first trailer and all. |

I don't follow the franchise, however, I do think they could stop making the anime series. Sure, you have plenty of fans.

Really looking forward to how this plays out- especially given that final confrontation and a particular remake we haven't heard anything about in years, but not to discredit that we might eventually see CCC in some form as well

yeah i'm saddened by this too, while saber aka spoiler[Nero] has a distinctly different personality than the FSN's saber its still her same damn face. Besides, I found Caster's personality to be far more entertaining to watch especially her crazy moods swings. |

I think they had to go with the male MC to go with not only Nero but the two girls as well. Sure, you could play as a girl in the game, and I actually played through with the guy and Nero and then halfway with the girl and Tamamo before I couldn't stand the game enough to see all the character interaction. To me it just really seems like they intended you to play the guy for the set up to feel right. It feels like they designed it around having a male mc, but they didn't want to alienate the female fans (especially those wanting their Archer husbando) by not giving them the option. I'm curious what your reasoning is that the anime with Extra in the name would adapt Extella instead is though. Not being snarky at all, legitimately curious. Extra had good characters, well mostly the servants (the two main girls were also good, granted one of them is Rin), but the actual story of settling things through weekly school battles was really freaking weak for Fate. |
