So Netflix has no issues forgoing the more ardent anime fans? Either that or they just don't learn... Confused

This is probably not one I'm going to watch. However if it's a show I'm going to watch and is delayed like this, I will not wait for the official streams, I'll just watch the rips/fansubs...

If it comes with a dub, a 3 months wait isn't too bad. I would even say its an awesome deal, only beaten by FUNi's awesome service.

There is always so much too watch each season anyway.

Prepare to lose alot of money Netflix. Everyone's gonna watch this on pirate sites and by the time it comes out alot of people ain't gonna watch it. Some people might rewatch it on Netflix if it's dubbed. Netflix has like 100 times the money funimation and crunchyroll has. How hard is it to simulcast or simuldub? I would actually wait a couple of weeks to watch if it was gonna get a dub. Was gonna do that for rage of bahamut virgin soul but then amazon.

Begins in summer in Japan, and outside of Japan gets it later, so between September to December.

Well, one good thing is that. But with this event, Netflix Anime Slate, everyone thought that the no-simulcast and delays issues would be solved, since the series would be released everywhere at the same day. Especially when it comes to the most anticipated series.

But then again, while the simulcast problem is easily solvable, is not that easy, since subbing and dubbing a weekly episode can bring its own string of problem. Just looking at Trollhunters, Anton Yelchin, who played the role of Jim, died while working on the voice acting of the show. Then there was the dub for Tales of Zestiria The X, where a voice actor was replaced by Bryce Papenbrook without finishing the series.

If some of these new Netflix Originals will have a delay of at least 3 months for at least 12 or 13 episodes, it´s okay with me, but it should´ve been released with all episodes, everywhere, at the same day. Well, In can deal with the delays since I´m not gonna jump on a show that may be supercrap for all of the fans´ complaints towards Netflix(I´m looking at you Violet Evergarden)

So much for thinking after that big slew of news at their anime conference it meant they finally realized the value of fansubbing and were gonna start simulreleasing stuff

At least we'll still have fansubbers probably >_>

I'm guessing it's a question of ressources for them. Just before that they are dubbing AICO, Devilman and whatever elses they announced for that period. Pretty sure both the shows I mentioned have already been confirmed to be simultaneous worldwide.(correct me if I'm wrong)

There is also the Godzilla movie trilogy and all the rest. They are dubbing a lot of stuff.

People seem to forget how long manga readers often have to wait for it to make it over to the states. A 3 month delay with multiple languages outside of japanese is pretty good

That is the only justification I see. A dub like that might not have as much pressure as doing a weekly simuldub. Netflix making excuses like it's a rights issue that they can't get it to air weekly is baloney to me. This is because they have enough $ to buy out several animation studios many times over.
