This is the first Sentai Fall pick up that I am really interested in. Hopefully it is a good show.

Wow I'm actually very surprised that CR didn't get this since this an NBCUniversal anime. I guess their partnership doesn't mean anything then... Whelp.

Sentai is seriously going H.A.M.. I guess they must really be getting funding from Amazon. I can't imagine how else they are paying for so many licenses. Good for them though.

CR's announced partnership with NUEJ was announced way after the production of Just Because was announced, plus I kinda doubt this has the "international appeal" that CR is looking for with their partnership with NUEJ. |

Previously on my Prediction list for:
Sentai: Houzuki S2, Classicaloid S2(HDLIVE), Osake wa Fuufu ni Natte kara, Two Car as well. Maybe they'll get Just Because, but Amazon might want that one for themselves. Predicted Just Because, now let's see if Amazon get Garo Vanishing Line for themselves. Sentai is doing way better ever since they partnered up with Amazon. Who knows if Just Because is going to be any good though, it could end up being good or completely forgettable. |

I wouldn't have a problem with this if Sentai simulcasted their titles on both Strike and HiDive. Why should the US be treated differently from the rest of the world? At this point I'm subscribing to neither service. If they simulcasted to both, they would at least get my sub to HiDive, but at this point it's not worth it, unless you count LotGH (which isn't finished subbed yet) or their large selection of dubs.
My next question is, when Sentai finally does dub their titles, will they have the authority to stream the dub on HiDive in the US? |

So this just leaves Garo and Two Car on my watch list as unlicensed. Hopefully Funiroll gets them!
So far shows that I want to watch that I'm going to have to sail the high seas for (I'd rather not give Amazon positive reinforcement for their predatory business practices): Land of the Lustrous Inuyashinki Just Because (maybe) |

The understanding by some us as to why Sentai works with Anime Strike is because Amazon is paying them a lot of money. I like that HIDIVE exists, but it is most likely not very profitable for Sentai to put their U.S. streams there.
Hopefully they are able to stream dubs of Strike shows on HIDIVE, but nobody knows at this point. |

Ahhh dammit! I wanted Funiroll to pick this up. Now the dub is uncertain and won't happen for at least 1 or 2 years. I'm sad.

Sigh. This was the first Sentai title I cared about, too.
I greatly dislike Anime Strike as a Canadian. Amazon Prime Video is just awful to navigate, and while we get all Strike stuff on it, Amazon just forgets to put the episodes up like 90% of the time. I've had to wait more than four weeks for an episode that was available on AS same-date airing. I guess that Amazon totally doesn't care about their Canadian userbase if they honestly think that is an acceptable business practice. |

Wait. You mean you didn't actually think that was happening? Uh.. hmm. I think the only reason Amazon hasn't just bought them is that Amazon feels Sentai is better for them as an "independent" company rather than a *direct* extension of Amazon. It probably sits better with the Japanese as well. |

I figured it was possible, but I never assumed it was the case because I didn't really see any reason why Amazon wouldn't just skip Sentai entirely if they were paying for everything anyway. Using Sentai as as broker works, I guess, but I don't really see anyone in Japan having a terribly negative opinion of Amazon at the moment, so not really sure why they would need to do that. |

In all honesty, it might have more to do with the fact that John Ledford seems to really enjoy owning an anime company (considering the sheer number of them he's started over the past two decades) - since Sentai is a privately-held company, it's ultimately his decision.
