On one hand, more Sumire Uesaka.
On the other hand, once again CG makes all the robots light, flightly, and weightless. Psssh. I mean it looks great, but the mecha action itself being in CG just doesn't look as fun as even 'old' visuals like in Mazinkaiser. Will probably still watch. |

Everything looks great aside from the 3D mechs, and I do generally mean the other stuff looks good. It's weird, every adaptation going all the way to the last one from 2012 has been key-framed. Did the direct not want to key-frame them or was Masami Obari busy working on another project?

Actually the 3d works great in the movie (having seen the EU screening), and the second battle in the movie is, IMO, worth the ticket alone.
That said, do not expect anything like Mazinkaiser or Shin Mazinger ZERO, as it's tonally more similar to the TV series. |
