Seems weird to end it just before the anime anniversary, unless they're going to replace it with something better, but during the time I tried playing, I didn't find it very good, even by mobage standards. I don't know if it was just me, but I had a lot of problems with graphics not loading in fights. The card art was nice, but I feel like I was spoiled by years of witch art in Megami and Nyantype, that it didn't feel too special.

Will the game still work, after they end their service?

If its an online only game, then no. The article didn't state if it was playable offline, which I doubt it would be, but probably not.

Mobage was never a strength of Strike Witches in the first place. The card art was definitely nice, but it was more valuable than the gameplay. This is just wishful thinking but personally I hope we get a Noble Witches anime after the manga just came out. There’s a lot of potential with the 506th.

It requires connecting to their servers to even login, so no. It's basically just another mobage, and it's quite a low quality one at that, imo. I won't miss it. It'd be nice if they made a new, more in-depth mobage but it's not something I'm desperate for.

Either way, this isn't the first time Strike Witches have game content disappeared from public view (delisted, for short.) The X360/PSP STG "Wings of White Silver" also was pulled from digital stores after Cyberfront went out of business. At least physical copies still exist for that game, however.
