Is there any specific reason why kaiji doesn't get another TV anime? It looks doing pretty well in the Japanese market as games.

Sales were pretty bad. And no live-action movie to promote right now (from what I've heard. I can be wrong).
Read the manga, anime probably will never come out. Closest to 3rd season we get is "Kaiji 17 steps" video

There's also the fact that Masao Maruyama was a major factor in Akagi, Kaiji, & One Outs' creations, and since he doesn't work for Madhouse anymore there's less of a push for it. Then there's the fact that Hideki Taniuchi, the music composer for Akagi & Kaiji, got busted for marijuana about a year or so after Kaiji Season 2, which killed his anime composing career; Kaiji Season 2 was literally the last anime he worked on. Sure, he could theoretically be replaced, but Taniuchi's music was such a strong part of why Akagi & Kaiji were so excellent.

I've come to accept that we'll likely never see anymore of the "Madhouse Gambling Trilogy", as I call it. At least every single one of those series was excellent, though One Outs really deserves a legal stream. Anyway, I'm really interested in that Kaiji game being on Switch, so much so that I'll probably finally make a Japanese account to get it, one day.
