The story is set in Onomichi, Hiroshima in the year 20XX. Fish disappear from the sea around the world and only whales live in the ocean.

By this the entire ecosystem has become imbalance and would have a drastic affect on both the lives of both humans and non-human animals in ways that would have a negative impact, and not just in terms of food. I am curious how they go about portraying the affect of this as right now it seems the story is making light of this problem, but perhaps it's more dire then the premise is making it out to be. After all, I have not played the game this is base on so I don't know how things are handle, and even if the story did make light of the situation there is always the possibility of the anime adaptation spicing things up.
