Is this a lot...?
I have no idea what the expected earnings for such limited releases could be, especially since this isn't even a movie which is usually the only thing with limited releases. While it makes sense a 1 episode premier would only be in "theaters" for a few days, I can't understand why movies like Kizumonogatari or Fate stay night can't get regular showings for 2 weeks, especially since they are usually only in indie theaters. But then when movies with complete stories like Your Name don't get full worldwide theatrical releases, that's just plain money left at the table. There're cheaper AND more expensive animated features that get world wide unlike any "anime" movies. |
