So Land of the Lustrous is a Steelbook-only release? Interesting, it should compliment the artwork of the show well.

So no regular BD release for Lustrous? Hopefully the steelbook isn’t too expensive as I really want to own it.

Already checked. It's not that expensive compared to the regular edition of Girl's Last Tour.

It's $79.98 SRP, $10 more than their standard (on other titles) bilingual Blu-ray price.

Nice to see both Girls' Last Tour & Lustrous finally get a US street date. I'll probably buy the GLT premium edition if the booklets are impressive enough.

I'm not so happy with the Lustrous release. I can understand not being able to get enough materials for a collectors set, but trying to overcompensate by sticking the release in a steelbook (a style of packaging I personally detest), and then charging $10 more than the standard amaray rrp for that 'luxury' leaves a bit of a sour taste. I'll wait for the eventual UK release for that one; hopefully they won't follow the same model.

On a more positive note, I'd somehow forgotten Sentai had picked up Hataraki Man for sd bd, so I look forward to adding that in my collection in the future.

It even comes with a Spanish dub and subtitles.

Why force that on everyone, though? We shouldn't be upcharged for language options we don't care for. They should offer a standard edition with just ENG/JP

Oh I see, $51.99 on Rightstuf. Though the description on RS doesn’t mention a Spanish dub. Hopefully that’s just a mistake though. The extras on that steelbook look pretty scarce, though.
@Kougeru, this release is meant for all of the Americas, and most countries in the Americas speak Spanish.

Does anyone if the Japanese disks came with significant on-disk extras? I know each volume came with a 32 page art book, but not if they had features & interviews, etc. Judging by the videos available online showing how the gems' light refraction & translucency were created, I would have thought there would be enough materials for a rather impressive set, if permission was granted. Obviously it wasn't, but I'm still curious what assets are out there to search out.

The upcharge is just due to the steelbook.

Rocket Girls was great. I terribly underrated series from the past. There was bonus material at the end of the original DVD showing the original concept art work from the first attempt at the anime a decade earlier, which provides an interesting insight in how the animation and character designs evolved over a decade.

I agree wholeheartedly. I have it and have watched it three times over the years. Sure, high school girls as astronauts is ridiculous, but they actually come up with a reason for having small, Asian high school girls for astronauts.

The Spanish dub is useless. I can understand throwing in Spanish subtitles, as they take up almost nothing in terms of storage, but adding another DTS HD-MA 2.0 24-Bit track will eat up the bitrate, which is already lower due to everyone (besides Aniplex) cheapening out and doing the 1 BD-50 1 BD-25 route instead of using 2 dual layer discs. Lazy.

If it were up to me, it'd be 2 BD-50s and just Japanese audio (as I despise dubs), but that's just me. In reality, I'd want more even split releases.
