If her Wikipedia entry is correct, she killed herself. Committing suicide is truly sad.

I wonder why ANN left out that detail. Can you find any other sources that say it was suicide? I'm just curious to see if it's real news or some Wikipedia editor making things up.

If someone commits suicide, it is understandable if those obituary-type articles omits that. However, I only saw the suicide mentioned on her Wikipedia page. |

It's a very long-established custom. It's not done only because it's "customary"; there's probably a few PhDs in the history, but... there are strong copycat effects on suicide reports, and reporting details of unpleasant deaths is discomforting for the readership, and there are some complex legal issues also. If the suicide-prevention number is at the bottom of a news report, then for sure it's a suicide, same for police statements of "no suspicious circumstances". Another good indicator is not having a listed cause of death. |

The Pop Goes the News article is the only article we could find about her death, and it doesn't mention a cause of death. When authorities suspect a death is a suicide at the time of reporting, we won't put it in the headline but we do mention that. (We did mention it in the Chester Bennington obituary for example.) |

The Wikipedia entry now merely says that she died. Regardless of what the cause of death was, this is incredibly sad. I personally have never seen any of Dwyer's work, but as someone whose best friend ended up taking his own life, I can only imagine what might have been going through her head (if it's true). RIP.

If you look at the bottom of the wiki page, it's still tagged Canadian actresses who committed suicide. I'm not sure the fact ever was mentioned in the main text, from what I could see from the previous iterations of the page... |

It's kind of sad to see Ms. Dwyer go. I don't know if she committed suicide or not,it's still sad to see her go,especially at age 43. She had so much left to do. Goodbye,Ms. Dwyer. You left us far too soon.
