I thought this one's name was "Do you think somebody like you could defeat the Demon Lord"?

You are correct, that is the title.

Seven Sea's decided it wanted to go its own way and changed the title for the English release.

I can see where they are coming from, but the new name seems more asinine than the original.

Hopefully it proves to be successful, it isn't that bad of a story. Not great, but a good time-waster and interesting premise to enjoy.

That is the closer translation. They probably went with a different title for marketing purposes. Roll Over and Die leaves a stronger impression. The subtitle is more aggressive and descriptive compared to the original as well. It says more about what to expect from the series whereas the original subtitle is vague beyond describing the initial premise.

---

This review tempted me to try the first volume. Up to now I avoided this series due to my distaste for body horror and abundant gore. That it is written in third person and avoids the usual approach to slavery in LNs piques my interest.

Seagloom, for what it's worth, I agree with Theron's review, and I enjoyed the book as well. I'm not a body horror fan, either, and I think this has enough besides that going for it to be worthwhile.

(Although my favorite yuri novel from October is A Lily Blooms in Another World.)

I was initially skeptical about the level of grimdark violence in this one, as well as the slavery elements, but after giving the first volume a chance it's become one of my favorite isekai light novel franchises. It's one of the many recent lady-centric fantasy LNs that have really surprised me, along with Sexiled, The Play-By-Play Commentator Endo-kun and Color Commentator Kobayashi-san's Live Commentary on the Tsundere Villainess Liselotte, and FUNA's three titles (I Thought I Told You to Make My Abilities Average, I Shall Survive Using Potions, and Saving 80,000 Gold in Another World For My Retirement).

Is this confirmed? It's not as if these companies are always 100% transparent about whether these decisions are made by them or the original authors/Japanese licensors.

Maybe it's just because I didn't know about the original title, but I kinda like it. Mildly schlocky, but given the content, it seems appropriate; and in a market riddled with "My Sentence-Format Light Novel Title Can't Be This Overly Descriptive," it stands out.

Kinda unsure if I'd want to read this, though; "dark yuri magic fantasy" are all genres I'm into, but "slave girl" and "attempted rape" are pretty big red flags for me, even if you say they're handled better than usual. Might give it a shot next time I run out of new manga/LNs.

A yuri version Shield Hero? Yes please! (P.S. I deliberately simplify for humor)

Glad to hear it. I was wary of another Torture Princess. There is only so much of that I can take if it's too graphic.

The other series sounds good too. As I tend to prefer paperback, it slipped under my radar.

I loved this LN and can’t wait for book 2, I wish seven seas released their books a little quicker.

I’ve been a fan of this series since I found the fan translation. Which was taken down when Seven Seas licensed, but before that they managed to translate the first three volumes. So, I can at least assure you guys you won’t have to worry about any more attempted rape scenes for a while.

It’s still a pretty dark work, but the author is nice enough to give some yuri fluffiness from time to time to balance it.

Finally the yuri is making its way to other genres, for a long time it was stuck only in romance and slice of life so more people will be interested in the Girls love... and they will know my vision C:
