surprised since the last one kinda sucked....still gonna get this though and hope its better than that one :p
personally id think a valkyrie profile 3 would get alot more hype than another star ocean. |

Surprised we got a new one. I also didn't like 5 too much, and unfortunately this looks to have a lot of the same aesthetic, but I'll wait until we see more to make a full judgement.
At least they're acknowledging 2 is the best in the series and trying to go back to the dual protagonist system. Hopefully they've improved things since then. |

The Aesthetic wasn't the problem with the previous game. It generally looked pretty good and the battle system was fine. It was the god aweful camera and the characters and the plot and the repeated backtracking that was the problem! |

The last Star Ocean I played is Till the End of Time on PS2, which I have fond memories of despite the ending. I really wanted to give the newer Star Oceans a try but the bad things I've heard about them deterred me from doing so. Even so, I'm still mildly excited every time I saw news about the series. Same with this one... until I saw the trailer. Somehow the character models (and by that, I mean their faces) look even worse than those from the PS2 era. The uncanniness legit creeped me out. Oh god why can't tri-Ace hires better character modeler...

The flying mechanic gives me hope that this one will have a larger world map compared to Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness (SO 5) but I wish we could get proper 2D anime cutscenes again like with Star Ocean: The Second Story.

2nd story has only FMVS, 2nd evolution has anime cutscenes but It depends on rather you prefer the old CGI FMVs from the playstation era like in Final Fantasy, Shadow Hearts and Chrono Cross or the newly remastered anime cutscenes developed by Production I.G. Funningly enough, not alot of people know that 2nd story has exlusive FMVS not shown in evolution. |

The first Star Ocean I played was Second Story. Me and my brother picked turn based, my friend was shocked because he played action mode. He didn't know it was in the game. His other complaint was that we made it further than he did. They're good memories but I hope they still give you choices. I just don't like the Idea of ripping off Breath Of the Wild and putting it into another game. This flying mechanic looks weird and I kind of don't like it. It looks like they're trying to be lazy throughout the stage. And I don't like the character models, but I'll see if I might buy it. If they get rid of the English Dubbing like they did in Atelier Iris, that might kill it for me...

Ugh, The last Star Ocean game I played was 4 and I didn't like it a whole lot. I liked the way the last Star Ocean game looked but all the bad comments about it made me give it a pass, but I do like the way this one seems to go back to Star Ocean 2 dual protag system.
I just... I hate the main male characters face so much. I think it's his hair. It just doesn't look right on his face. Also, in a way I feel like Star Ocean: Till the End of Time ending kind of ruined the game for me. It's hard to get into any of the games after that ending.
But the trailer in English? Be weird to spend money dubbing a game and then just chunk the dubbing out the window? Edit: I saw a review saying that it looks like this game is ripping off Monster Hunter and Xenoblade... I guess I can kind of see it in a way? At least it's not being called another Breath of the Wild clone? |

Its just their noses don't look right. I draw so it bothers me. But that's not something to stop me from buying it but, If its another fighting game like The last hope that's different. I really suck at fighting games. I hope the game is good. It'd be nice if they made another Resonance of Fate game. I hope that their not lazy with the gameplay, and I have seen games with English trailers and the games ends up with just Japanese.
