Ye gods and little fishies, I do would do a lot for a new Valkyrie Profile game. Why does Star Ocean get all the second chances? Rhetorical, don't answer.

I did quite like SO3, strange twist included, and 4 was actually fairly solid. Though...after 5 I'm still floored that they're giving it another try.

Star Ocean 5 makes you appreciate 4 all the more, especially if you play the version that lets you use the 2D art and menus rather than the CG ones.

I could do without the open world bits we saw in the trailer though. Just make the battle system good and the party members fun and interesting. And maybe add in optional/recruitable members back. That was the staple of the series. Even 4 let you switch out one member.

WB Platform Fighter: Space Jam 2 was the precursor to this. WB let everyone know they are ready to unleash the full might of their IP library for maximum exploitation.

Star Ocean: The Second Story was always that other classic PS1 JRPG that I never got around to playing. The trailer made it look like Sony wants their own Xenoblade style game, and Star Ocean seems like a good fit for that.

KOF XV: The reveal of Team Rival was heart-breaking, because it all but tanked the chances of the character I want most: Adelheid. That said, as you astutely pointed out Heidern doesn't have a clear "rival" yet, so hope springs eternal for DLC. I love everything about Dolores, so definitely biting the waifu bait on that character. And yeah, getting that beta test announcement was way hype especially after the fandom was sweating when we didn't get our Tuesday night tease tweet.

Ubusuna: They are making a follow-up to Ikaruga?! I had no idea!

SRW 30: Yes, it's out, but sadly I won't be able to play it for a while for various reasons. On the bright side, I get to play vicariously through a fellow superfan / friend. I'm envious cause this game is sporting one hell of a roster.

I personally love SO3, including the twist. I was mildly annoyed that SO4 (which I also loved) didn't choose to acknowledge it at all. SO5 was definitely meh for me.

It was announced seven years ago. Consider yourself lucky for not having to wait so long.

M2 also announced their second re-release compilation pack of Toaplan's classic 80s and 90s arcade shooters: Hishouzame! Zame! Zame! This contains the games Hishouzame (Sky Shark) and Same! Same! Same! (Fire Shark), along with a to-be-announced non-shooter Toaplan game (please be Knuckle Bash).

Oh, I like the sound of that. Well, the shooter parts at least. I don't really have any memories of playing any non-shooter Toaplan games except maybe Snow Bros. I would have preferred the third game to be Twin Cobra myself (yes, I KNOW it's a shooter), but yeah, I'll gladly get this pack if given the chance on just Flying/Sky Shark and Fire Shark.

Wow, wouldn't have expected Mac Tonight to be referenced here, but there it is Laughing

Star Ocean looks like it could be good. I like the Xenoblade X vibes I'm getting from it.

It'd be nice if they could localize that remaster or 2 though =/

Anyone else remember when Activision made good games -- like _Chopper Command_, or _River Raid_, or _Spider Fighter_, or....
