It's fine, but I'd like it a lot more if it dropped the romantic side, or at least toned it way down. Everybody really is acting like they're teenager rather than working adult, the scene where the friend tease Futaba about liking someone and she act like she's 12 are just cringe. I'm also not crazy about romance where the character are already in love with each others, and this is pretty much the case for everyone except Harumi (who's not interested in Futaba because he sees her as daughter, so a bit yuck there, especially since Futaba seems to only like him because he's like her father figure, more yuck all around). Kazama like Sakurai... because ...? And Sakurai likes him only because he's better than his creepy obsessive co-worker (which is pretty freaking low bar to clear).

Sakurai's grandpa is cool.

The article should be corrected by replacing Sakurai with Futaba.

Happy that I am not the only one who thought Koi Kaze when seeing Futaba and Harumi together (based solely on visual resemblance in my case). But since Harumi is considerably older, he and Futaba cannot be twins.

Speaking of Koi Kaze, Patrick Seitz voiced the male lead in that as well.

That's the issue right from the get go! From the title, I'd expected something like a gender-swapped Uzaki-chan Wants To Hang Out or Don't Toy with Me, Miss Nagatoro: horrible, unfunny people being terrible to each other for 24 episodes in a bizarro twist on the definition of the word "humor."

"I didn't like popular comedies and I'm going to be a****le about it" the column...

This is level of writing I would expect from 10 year old edgy blog, not professional publication.

My dude, we used the "hamster eating a banana" picture and an Ariana Grande reaction gif while talking about how much we loved this show,, and me not liking two comedies is what you lean in on as a sign of a lack of professional behavior? Forget missing the forest for the trees, this is missing the air for the radon molecules.

Someone not liking something that YOU like is not, by any stretch of the imagination, an insult.

Personally I find difference between comedy (using memes and hamsters as you wrote) and rather low level dissing of things other people like in order to build own taste up. There is no comedy in comment about Uzaki and Nagatoro - it's just mean-spirited comment, seemingly looking down on other peoples' tastes.
I will also note that Nagatoro was rated very high by this site writer Christopher Farris, so by this comment you kinda undermine their competence.

Please don't create that often used strawman. Never said anything similar, after all "de gustibus non est disputandum". There is however big difference in how you can word your critique and this is my problem - this wording was pretty much low-level dissing of shows (and by proxy, peoples' tastes if they liked it) like you can find on edgy blogs or Reddit.
I just expected more from professional team.

I don't know how you go about in your day-to-day life disagreeing with people if you think anything that runs contrary to your opinion is a self-aggrandizing put-down. As for the disagreements between myself and my colleagues: it happens. People like different things, and our editors have better things to do than crack some nonexistent whip and make sure we tow a party line. If Chris liked Nagatoro, bully for him. I love Eat-Man and ain't nobody on this site seen Eat-Man (not since Justin Sevakis left)--if everyone else thinks it's slow, heady and badly-animated but I think it's brilliant... it just means we disagree on stuff. It's on you if you think that a difference of opinion is undermining things.

Put it this way: leave all matters concerning editorial to our editors, they do a phenomenal job. And if it matters that much to you, you can maybe go watch Nagatoro and not worry about folks that don't like it?

I asked another user to not use that strawman, I would be thankful if you too didn't.

I will repeat what I wrote to that user - I never said anything similar, after all "de gustibus non est disputandum".

What you seem to not understand is that you can word your disagreement in many ways. No one makes you word it in aggressive and aggravating way. It makes big difference how you word your critique and this is my problem - this wording was pretty much low-level dissing of shows (and by proxy, peoples' tastes if they liked it) like you can find on edgy blogs or Reddit.

I understand that level of Internet discussion is extremely low, but I just expected more from professional team published on professional site.

Romances where characters are already in love with each other can be great actually, if they avoid all that "will they, won't they" bullshit which plagues the anime rom-coms and concentrate on the proper couple stuff.
As for Futaba, it's actually quite common to base your type on your parental figures actually, which makes sense - why not go for the type of people you already know you like? So I disagree with "yuck" comment. And Harumi probably only sees her as daughter because she's so smol and headpatable, but I don't see why should it be "yuck" if she tries to make him see her as a woman.

I just think the article should have been titled Is My Senpai Annoying? instead.

And yet here we are. I know it's not Latin, but here's a quote from Cary Elwes you can try on for size: "Get used to disappointment". Laughing

I like that a lot, but it might be a little too similar to the actual to work.

Would not that fall under fair use? And would the production committee or whomever owns the rights* complain since it is free publicity for the show?

*Need a legal team to figure that out these days.

Naw, it's not a legal thing, just a matter of readability. We might have "Is my senpai annoying?" and someone who isn't paying attention might just read it as the normal title ("My Senpai Is Annoying"). It's cute wordplay, just subtle enough that folks might stumble over it.
