This kind of sounds like they are going to do a similar time travel plot from the original Be Forever Yamato (1980) except they’re going to travel to the year 3199 instead of 2402.

Okay, color me intrigued. I wonder how they'll change the aesthetic of the show to indicate that it's so much further in the future.

Also I'm now imagining the Yamato as a V'Ger thing: a gigantic, omnipotent alien machine with the gutted hull of the ancient battleship at its very heart.
