I'm so confused. Was 2205 only two parts and is now over with?

This is 3199, a new series now.

I'm surprised it's so long, 2205 wasn't much longer than The New Voyage but this is gonna be an entire 2 cour series. I wonder what they plan on doing with it then.

I wonder if they will dare to shove Yamato 2520 into the reboot somewhere now that No. 0 is fair game. Another unfished age later sequel. It has a few Syd Mead designs. That´s something. The mainline Yamato Resurrection is equally unfished but bits from it are already in the reboot. Even Series 3 is an unfinished product.
It will be hilarious when the 2nd take on Star Blazers will one day not only complete the story of the abandoned original universe but also of the beyond obscure spin-offs.

If I am not mistaken 2205 is just 2 movies.

I have only seen the first half of 2205 but it is based on a single 95 min movie. Part I: Take Off is about as long so this is hardly a rush job and its sequel, the partial basis for 3199, is 145 minutes long. Turning it into a neat 9-hour extravaganza is what should raise eyebrows but it´s clearly a loose retelling with 3199 and Part 3 elements also in the mix. The plot of Part 3 is already begun in Take Off as the inciting incident of Part 3 happens on-screen halfway through the film.
New Voyage, Be Forever and I guess Part 3 are being reimagined into a 32 ep series.
